Improper link resolution before file access ('link following') in Windows Shell allows an unauthorized attacker to perform spoofing over a network.

How could an attacker exploit this vulnerability?
An attacker could convince a user to access a location containing a specially crafted shortcut. The shortcut could cause the affected system to authenticate to an attacker-controlled network location, potentially exposing authentication material. User interaction is required.
