Уязвимость некорректной обработки таблицы mColors в модулях декодирования BMP в Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird и SeaMonkey
Описание
В модулях modules/libpr0n/decoders/bmp/nsBMPDecoder.cpp в браузере Mozilla Firefox до версии 2.0.0.12, клиенте электронной почты Thunderbird до версии 2.0.0.12 и интернет-пакете SeaMonkey до версии 1.1.8 некорректно проводятся определенные расчеты, связанные с таблицей mColors. Это позволяет злоумышленнику получить доступ к частям неинициализированной памяти с использованием специально созданного 8-битного BMP-файла, который вызывает чтение за пределами выделенной кучи, как показано на примере использования элемента CANVAS. Также уязвимость позволяет вызвать DoS атаку через специально созданный 8-битный BMP-файл, который приводит к такому же чтению за пределами.
