An issue was discovered in GNU libiberty, as distributed in GNU Binutils 2.36. It is a stack-overflow issue in demangle_type in rust-demangle.c.

Red Hat Product Security does not consider this to be a vulnerability. Although this is a medium priority CVE, it cannot be used to compromise the security of a system. As such the only affect the bug has is to cause some of the binutils' binary inspection tools to fail, and then only if given malicious, malformed input.
