This issue was introduced in QEMU upstream version 5.0.0. As a result, it only affects the version of qemu-kvm as shipped with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 Advanced Virtualization. Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and 8 are not affected by this flaw as they ship an older version of the package. A future update may address this issue in RHEL 8 Advanced Virtualization.
