CVE-2022-40768

Опубликовано: 09 сент. 2022
Источник: redhat
CVSS3: 5.5

Описание

drivers/scsi/stex.c in the Linux kernel through 5.19.9 allows local users to obtain sensitive information from kernel memory because stex_queuecommand_lck lacks a memset for the PASSTHRU_CMD case.

An information disclosure vulnerability is found in stex_queuecommand_lck() in drivers/scsi/stex.c in the Linux Kernel. This flaw allows a local attacker to disclose sensitive information such as kernel space address.

Меры по смягчению последствий

To mitigate this issue, skip loading the affected module "stex" onto the system until we have a fix available. This can be done using a blacklist mechanism, which will ensure that the driver is not loaded at the boot time.

How do I blacklist a kernel module to prevent it from loading automatically? https://access.redhat.com/solutions/41278
