With small numbers of bits, the allocated object can be smaller than sizeof(long), which results in invalid accesses. Use bitmap_zalloc() to allocate and initialize the irq bitmap, paired with bitmap_free() for consistency.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's powerpc/xive/spapr component. An incorrect bitmap allocation size can lead to a slab-out-of-bounds write. A local attacker could exploit this vulnerability to cause a denial of service or potentially disclose sensitive information.

To mitigate this issue, prevent the xive_spapr kernel module from loading on PowerPC systems. Create a file named /etc/modprobe.d/disable-xive-spapr.conf with the following content:
After creating the file, regenerate the initramfs and reboot the system for the changes to take effect. This mitigation may impact functionality that relies on the XIVE interrupt controller.
