CVE-2022-50670

Опубликовано: 09 дек. 2025
Источник: redhat
CVSS3: 5.5

Описание

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: mmc: omap_hsmmc: fix return value check of mmc_add_host() mmc_add_host() may return error, if we ignore its return value, it will lead two issues:

  1. The memory that allocated in mmc_alloc_host() is leaked.
  2. In the remove() path, mmc_remove_host() will be called to delete device, but it's not added yet, it will lead a kernel crash because of null-ptr-deref in device_del(). Fix this by checking the return value and goto error path wihch will call mmc_free_host().

A flaw was found in the OMAP HSMMC driver in the Linux kernel. The driver does not check the return value of mmc_add_host(), which can lead to a memory leak from mmc_alloc_host() and a null pointer dereference crash in mmc_remove_host() when attempting to remove a device that was never successfully added.

Отчет

This issue only affects systems with OMAP hardware (primarily ARM-based embedded/mobile platforms). Standard x86 enterprise deployments are not impacted by this vulnerability.

Меры по смягчению последствий

To mitigate this issue, prevent the omap_hsmmc module from being loaded. See https://access.redhat.com/solutions/41278 for instructions.
