In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ax25: Fix netdev refcount issue
The dev_tracker is added to ax25_cb in ax25_bind(). When the
ax25 device is detaching, the dev_tracker of ax25_cb should be
deallocated in ax25_kill_by_device() instead of the dev_tracker
of ax25_dev. The log reported by ref_tracker is shown below:

Change ax25_dev->dev_tracker to the dev_tracker of ax25_cb
in order to mitigate the bug.
A vulnerability was found in the Linux kernel's AX.25 protocol implementation. The issue arises from incorrect handling of the netdev reference count, where the dev_tracker associated with the AX.25 device is improperly managed. Specifically, the dev_tracker of the ax25_cb should be deallocated during device detachment in the ax25_kill_by_device() function, but it was mistakenly tied to the ax25_dev. This mismanagement leads to a reference count mismatch, triggering warnings and potential system instability, as indicated by logs showing already released references.
Отчет
Red Hat Enterprise Linux is not vulnerable to this CVE, as it does not affect the versions or configurations of the Linux kernel used in its distributions.
Меры по смягчению последствий
Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability.
