Описание
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
misc: fastrpc: Fix double free of 'buf' in error path
smatch warning:
drivers/misc/fastrpc.c:1926 fastrpc_req_mmap() error: double free of 'buf'
In fastrpc_req_mmap() error path, the fastrpc buffer is freed in
fastrpc_req_munmap_impl() if unmap is successful.
But in the end, there is an unconditional call to fastrpc_buf_free().
So the above case triggers the double free of fastrpc buf.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's fastrpc module. The fastrpc_req_mmap() function contains a double free vulnerability in its error handling path. This occurs when a buffer is freed twice, once during an unmap operation and again through an unconditional call to fastrpc_buf_free(). A local attacker could exploit this flaw to cause a system crash, leading to a denial of service.
Отчет
This issue of double free may not allow attacker to write to an arbitrary kernel memory (I:N).
Меры по смягчению последствий
Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.
