A flaw was found in KubeVirt Containerized Data Importer (CDI). This vulnerability allows a user to clone PersistentVolumeClaims (PVCs) from unauthorized namespaces, resulting in unauthorized access to data via the DataImportCron PVC source mechanism.

This vulnerability is rated Important for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization versions 4.19 and 4.20. A flaw in the KubeVirt Containerized Data Importer (CDI) allows a user to clone PersistentVolumeClaims (PVCs) from unauthorized namespaces through the DataImportCron PVC source mechanism. Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization versions 4.12 through 4.18 are not affected as the vulnerable code is not present.
