Описание
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
rapidio: fix an API misues when rio_add_net() fails
rio_add_net() calls device_register() and fails when device_register()
fails. Thus, put_device() should be used rather than kfree(). Add
"mport->net = NULL;" to avoid a use after free issue.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel. A local attacker with low privileges could exploit this by triggering a failure in the rio_add_net() function, which incorrectly uses kfree() instead of put_device(). This can lead to a use-after-free vulnerability, potentially resulting in information disclosure, privilege escalation, or a denial of service.
Меры по смягчению последствий
Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options do not meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base, or stability.
