Описание
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: rtw88: Use devm_kmemdup() in rtw_set_supported_band()
Simplify the code by using device managed memory allocations.
This also fixes a memory leak in rtw_register_hw(). The supported bands
were not freed in the error path.
Copied from commit 145df52a8671 ("wifi: rtw89: Convert
rtw89_core_set_supported_band to use devm_*").
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's rtw88 Wi-Fi driver. This vulnerability is caused by a memory leak within the rtw_register_hw() function, where memory allocated for supported bands is not properly released during error conditions. This could allow a local attacker to exhaust system memory, leading to a denial of service (DoS).
Отчет
Red Hat acknowledges the upstream Linux kernel correction for «wifi» as described in COMMENT_ZERO. Fixes are delivered through standard kernel errata for supported products. Operational exposure depends on whether this subsystem or driver is active in your configuration.
Меры по смягчению последствий
To mitigate this issue, prevent the rtw88 module from being loaded. See https://access.redhat.com/solutions/41278 for instructions.
