CVE-2026-31640

Опубликовано: 24 апр. 2026
Источник: redhat
CVSS3: 5.5

Описание

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: rxrpc: Fix use of wrong skb when comparing queued RESP challenge serial In rxrpc_post_response(), the code should be comparing the challenge serial number from the cached response before deciding to switch to a newer response, but looks at the newer packet private data instead, rendering the comparison always false. Fix this by switching to look at the older packet. Fix further[1] to substitute the new packet in place of the old one if newer and also to release whichever we don't use.

A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's rxrpc component. This vulnerability occurs in the rxrpc_post_response() function, where the system incorrectly compares a newer network packet's data instead of the expected cached response. This error causes the challenge serial number comparison to always be false, preventing the system from correctly evaluating and potentially switching to newer network responses. This could lead to the system operating with outdated information or processing network communications incorrectly, potentially impacting the reliability of network services.
