In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ntfs: serialize volume label accesses
Protect vol->volume_label with a mutex and snaphost the label before
copy_to_user. This prevent a use-after-free when FS_IOC_SETFSLABEL
replaces the vol->volume_label and FS_IOC_GETTSLABEL reads it
concurrently.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's NTFS file system driver. This vulnerability, a use-after-free, arises from insufficient protection during concurrent operations on the volume label. A local attacker could exploit this by simultaneously setting and getting the file system label, which may lead to system instability or potentially allow for arbitrary code execution.
