In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fbdev: tdfxfb: fix potential memory leak in tdfxfb_probe()
In tdfxfb_probe(), the memory allocated for modelist using
fb_videomode_to_modelist() when CONFIG_FB_3DFX_I2C is defined, is not
freed in the subsequent error paths.
Fix that by calling fb_destroy_modelist().
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's tdfxfb driver. Specifically, the tdfxfb_probe() function, when the CONFIG_FB_3DFX_I2C option is enabled, does not properly free memory allocated for the modelist in certain error handling paths. This oversight can lead to a memory leak, which a local attacker could potentially exploit to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by exhausting system memory.
