In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
batman-adv: dat: acquire ARP hw source only after skb realloc
The pskb_may_pull() called by batadv_get_vid() could reallocate the buffer
behind the skb. Variables which were pointing to the old buffer need to be
reassigned to avoid an use-after-free.
A flaw was found in the batman-adv module of the Linux kernel. This vulnerability occurs because the pskb_may_pull() function, when called by batadv_get_vid(), can reallocate a buffer. This causes variables to point to the previously freed memory, leading to a use-after-free condition. A local attacker could potentially exploit this to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary code.
