Описание
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved: Bluetooth: btintel_pcie: fix off-by-one bounds check in RX submit btintel_pcie_submit_rx() used frbd_index > rxq->count to guard the FRBD array access, allowing frbd_index == rxq->count to pass through and index one element past the end of the array. Change the check to
= rxq->count so every out-of-range index is rejected. This issue was reported by Claude Mythos.
A flaw was found in the Linux kernel's Intel Bluetooth PCIe driver (btintel_pcie). An off-by-one bounds checking error during receive queue handling allows an index to reference one element past the allocated array boundaries. A local user could exploit this flaw to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) through a kernel crash or potentially corrupt system memory.
Отчет
This vulnerability is classified as Moderate impact for Red Hat products because exploitation requires local system access, low-privilege authentication, and the presence of specific Intel PCIe Bluetooth hardware controllers. While successful exploitation could result in kernel memory corruption or a denial of service, typical enterprise and cloud server installations do not feature or enable Bluetooth interfaces. Consequently, the operational blast radius is constrained to localized client or workstation environments running the affected hardware driver.
Меры по смягчению последствий
Mitigation for this issue is either not available or the currently available options don't meet the Red Hat Product Security criteria comprising ease of use and deployment, applicability to widespread installation base or stability.
