A use-after-free vulnerability in SVG Animation has been discovered. An exploit built on this vulnerability has been discovered in the wild targeting Firefox and Tor Browser users on Windows. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 50.0.2, Firefox ESR < 45.5.1, and Thunderbird < 45.5.1.

Proxy Auto-Config (PAC) files can specify a JavaScript function called for all URL requests with the full URL path which exposes more information than would be sent to the proxy itself in the case of HTTPS. Normally the Proxy Auto-Config file is specified by the user or machine owner and presumed to be non-malicious, but if a user has enabled Web Proxy Auto Detect (WPAD) this file can be served remotely. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 51.

A use-after-free vulnerability can occur while re-computing layout for a "marquee" element during window resizing where the updated style object is freed while still in use. This results in a potentially exploitable crash. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 52.3, Firefox ESR < 52.3, and Firefox < 55.

If an existing cookie is changed to be "HttpOnly" while a document is open, the original value remains accessible through script until that document is closed. Network requests correctly use the changed HttpOnly cookie. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 58.

This vulnerability allows an attacker to use the Mozilla Maintenance Service to escalate privilege by having the Maintenance Service invoke the Mozilla Updater to run malicious local files. This vulnerability requires local system access and is a variant of MFSA2013-44. Note: this issue only affects Windows operating systems. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 50.

Some of these bugs showed evidence of memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort that some of these could be exploited to run arbitrary code. WebExtensions can bypass user prompts to first save and then open an arbitrarily downloaded file. This can result in an executable file running with local user privileges without explicit user consent. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 58.
